Cheney-Bedingfield Wedding a Surprise
After Prayer Meeting, Young Couple Calls on Rev. R.C. Granberry and Are Married -
Bride’s Parents Forgive
Following the regular prayer meeting service at the Tattnall Square Church last night, Miss Carlese Cheney and William C. Beddingfield (sp), accompanied the Rev. R.C. Granberry to the church parsonage and there were united in marriage.
The young couple took pains to see that none of their friends knew of their intentions, for they did not tell even the minister that his services were required until they had reached his home. The only witnesses were members of the Granberry family.
After the ceremony, the couple notified Mr. and Mrs. Jonn J. Cheney and bought the parental blessing, which was promptly given. It was just a case of wanting to spring a surprise and not of objection on the part of anyone. Miss Cheney and Mr. Bedingfield had known each other for about two months.
Mrs. Bedingfield is the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Cheney. Mr Bedingfield has been in Macon for about a year, coming from Winder, and is connected with a local garage. |
