Blanche O'Neila Hudson-Hayslip's son Lawrence Hudson Hayslip

Lawrence Hudson Hayslip, born March 18, 1936, was called home on March 26, 2008.

Larry graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in Shalimar, Fla., and received his degree in electrical engineering from Roger Williams University, R.I. He was a senior electrical engineer for 40 years with Vitro Corporation of America, later known as BAE. After retiring, he pursued his passion of hunting, fishing and riding his Harley.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, John Stokes Hayslip Sr. and Blanche O'Nealia Hudson Hayslip. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Harriette Moore Hayslip.

Larry is survived by two daughters, Amy Leigh Brown and husband Tim Brown, and Elizabeth Anne Wade and husband, John Wade; six grandchildren, Christopher Brown, Ashleigh Lyons, Jeremiah Best, Brooke Best, Johnny Wade and Jackson Wade; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Brown and Deanna Taylor. He is also survived by his brother, John Stokes Hayslip II and wife Deborah, and niece Joanna Hayslip; and aunt, Joan (Melvin); and uncle, Gene (Peggy).

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Emerald Coast Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Malheiro officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Saturday. Burial will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted by the American Diabetes Association in memory of Lawrence Hudson Hayslip.
